Back in August, I was feeling a little lost on what to do with The Color Connoisseur. I had started it off as a place to track my progress to NSS, but nobody wants to keep reading about what I crossed off my list each month forever. I haven't had much time to really blog with as much dedication as others (I don't know how you all do it so well!), but I have had some amazing experiences lately. One of the things my friend Nole suggested was sharing more of my work with everyone. Afterall, it is colorful to say the least, so hope you don't mind a little more sharing! I do plan to come up with a better posting schedule at some point (hopefully after this years show), but till then....

I've mentioned before how the internet is a wonderful place to meet people in your field. You could be connecting through Twitter, the blogosphere, or even Facebook, but either way it's a fantastic way to make some great connections.

I've loved working with Manvi of Mochatini for the Tablescape 101 series on Bright.Bazaar. I'm blown away each and every time when I see her styling abilities and creative ideas. She is a force to be reckoned with and I am so honored to be part of her team. Will, Mr. Bazaar himelf... well he's a color lovah too, so of course it's been a great fit and just so fun to work with them both! Bright.Bazzar and Will both had a birthday last week and Manvi and I rocked out some seriously fun pieces for his Birthday Tablescape. There is something so fun about creating patterns and using type and colors for those with such fantastic taste. It's a great feeling to know that they value your choices as much as you value what they do.

We have more great projects coming up with Bright.Bazaar and Mochatini, so stay tuned!

A total pinch me moment, when back in October I got an email from Martha Stewart Weddings inviting me to design an invitation for a feature on stripes for the Spring 2012 issue.

I was in LA on Friday when the issue arrived so Paul took photos and called me. I picked up an issue here in Califronia yesterday to see it in person and am thrilled with the outcome. It's a gorgeous magazine and an honor to be included.

For more on this feature, check out the article here

As you may remember, right before Christmas I posted images from a collaboration with Manvi of Mochatini for Bright. Bazaar. I'm thrilled that I was asked back to help with the Valentine's Day Tablescape for Two. Will and Manvi didn't want the traditional pinks and reds, and nothing with hearts, so for someone who loves color as much as I do, I surprised myself by suggesting the black and white color palette. And beeing the typeaholic I am, I instantly knew that I wanted to use this gorgous ampersand (typeface called Paris by Moshik Nadav, found via Pinterest). I was so thrilled when Manvi suggested adding gold to the color palette and I am beyond thrilled with the outcome of the paper products.

I'm still a bit shocked that I was so into the black and white, but it's perfectly approporiate for what Manvi and Will had envisioned: sophisticated, chic, and elegant. And when Manvi shared her amazing styled photos, I nearly squealed with delight. She is so talented! I had been so curious as to what she would choose for florals and love that she went with ranuculus and deep purple anemones. Everything came together so beautifully and I'm once again honored to have been asked to participate.

It's been so fun working with Manvi and Will. We have some more great things coming your way in the following months, so stay tuned! But till then, I wish you and your Valentine the lovelist of days. Remember what it's about... don't get carried away with all the hoopla and over priced restaurants, flowers, and gifts. Spend some time together and spread a little love!

See more of from this shoot on Mochatini and Bright.Bazaar. Thanks Will and Manvi for including me on one of my favorite projects of 2012!
